With a strong foundation in marketing, technology, and innovation, Carmen was among the first to introduce structured AI-in-marketing education to South Africa and held the African license as a representative of The Connected Marketer. She has lectured at universities, authored course material and textbooks, served on industry councils including the IAB and MMA, and has been recognised as a Woman in Tech, Africa by Meltwater, an IAB Black Pixel winner, and a Leading Woman in Marketing.

She is the founder of Carmen Murray Communications, a future-focused marketing business. She is also a torchbearer for women empowerment and investing in women to build their future fit muscle, build their visibility, and develop their AI Literacy, and application, to overcome the STEMI challenges.

Carmen Murray was born because of a technological breakthrough. In 1979, the South African medical record was rewritten when my mother became the first woman in the country to undergo a successful microsurgical sterilisation reversal. This trial had success only in Belgium, USA, Canada and London.
From the start, her life has been intertwined with technology and its promise but also its responsibility. That moment wasn’t just about science; it was about resilience, hope, and the human spirit working with innovation.
This is why she believe so deeply in Humanity as the vital counterpart to AI. Technology can help enable miracles, but it is our authenticity, originality, and courage that give it meaning. Carmen is a result of Tech for Good and want to help shape a hopeful future.
